The Healthcare Commission exists to promote improvement in the quality of Healthcare in England and Wales.  In England this includes regulation of the Independent Healthcare Sector. They aim to do this by becoming an authoritative and trusted source of information and by ensuring that this information is used to drive improvement.

 
The Healthcare Commission’s legal name is the Commission for Healthcare Audit and Inspection.  It was formed by the Health & Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003 and launched on April 1st 2004.

The registration process, as set by the Healthcare Commission is lengthy, involved and expensive.  At the end of this however, you can be sure that your clinic has passed the stringent requirements of the Commission.

Following the granting of the Licence to Practice, the clinic will then be subject to an annual inspection by the Healthcare Commission to ensure that good practices established at the registration are continuing.

Why we can use the Healthcare Commission Logo

Only clinics passing the Healthcare Commission’s requirements are entitled to display the Logo and have sought permission from the Healthcare Commission to do so.


LPA – Kings College Hospital

In additional to the Healthcare Commission, we have our own Laser Protection Advisor – Mr. Jim Thurston of Kings College Hospital, London – who advises us on our requirements for the Healthcare Commission and regularly tests the lasers to ensure they are in perfect working order.
